As ARTIST IN RESIDENCE

  • Kim leads services and music with original melodies and productions for all generations in the synagogue community for Portland’s Congregation Beth Israel.

As MUSICIAN AND MUSIC LEADER...

  • Kim books concerts for families, schools, libraries, book stores, markets and fairs.

  • Kim leads Shabbat services, Tot Shabbats, High Holiday services, Intergroup Seders and various retreats and family camps, music at conventions, workshops and programs throughout the PNW.

As CHIEF COMMUNITY AND JEWISH LIFE OFFICER

  • Kim is Service Leader/Music Leader for all of BB360’s programming.

  • Kim has designed and leads the year round BB B’nai Mitzvah Program.

  • Kim leads year round intergenerational family musical Shabbats, holiday programs, workshops and retreats.

Kim spent 15 years as the Music Specialist at Portland Jewish Academy, where she taught Music from Pre-school through 8th Grade. Kim has written and directed a dozen Purim Shpiel Musicals for the school, including an original rock opera, each with social action undertones with one being featured on NPR. Kim has also written and directed various grade level musicals including a Portland Musical with ten original songs for the 3rd Grade Portland History and Culture curriculum. Kim's former projects include being a musician on OyBaby! and ThatBaby!, a CD series of Jewish and Secular music, with her sisters, Stephanie Schneiderman (producer) and Lisa Schneiderman. Kim has been invited to sing at the Portland Immigration Symposium in 2017 and the Portland inter-community vigil for the victims of the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh in 2018. In October 2022, Kim performed, for the third season, Hatikvah, during the Portland Trailblazer game against Maccabi Haifa.

Every Season Every Moment is Kim’s latest project being released and consists of settings for a Friday night Shabbat service.

Generous donors from the CBI community funded three music videos highlighting her music, including her full band, and both an adult and children’s choir.

Along with Josh Niehaus, and Camp Solomon Schechter, Kim designed and lead RUACH PNW, a brand new, immersive, two-day retreat for adults of all ages, focusing on tapping into our individual unique spirit that drives connection and creativity in our lives through song, learning, art, outdoor experiences, and mindfulness. 

Kim’s children’s album was released in 2017. Walk Around The Block consisting of musical stories, capturing audiences of all ages, received a distinguished 2017 Parents' Choice Award®. “…a treasure trove of happy, thoughtful story-songs about exploring our world, using our imaginations, standing up for ourselves and loving each other as we are.”

Inspired by her grandfather, Kim led Yad b’Yad, a weekly, 45-minute Interactive Intergenerational Music class for 0-5 aged kids, their grownups, and the community of seniors living at Cedar Sinai Park. This beloved music program ran consistently for ten years.
